Mr. Shirish Chandra Murmu will be New Executive Director, the Reserve Bank of India. Mr Murmu’s appointment will take effect from Dt. 9th-Oct-2025. Murmu has been appointed for a period of three years. He is currently Executive Director at the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).
Mr. Murmu is Post Graduate in Science from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU)i. He joined RBI in 1991 and has more than 33 years of experience in various central banking functions at mid and senior management levels which includes Regional Director besides senior management roles in other central banking functions.
